Day of the Dead at Highfield Hall

Wednesday, November 2, 6-10pm

The Falmouth Chamber of Commerce is hosting a "Day of the Dead" Young Professionals Party at Highfield Hall. This event will help support the FYP Scholarship Fund and provides a festive night out! There will be DJs and dancing, a cash bar, delicious foods to nosh and great raffle prizes! Tickets are $25; buy tickets here.

Primo: Beginners’ Workshop with James Bowen

Saturday, November 5, 10am-4pm and Sunday, November 6, 10am-1pm

The “Primo” is your first course to truly learn how to create mosaic artworks. During this two-day workshop, you will learn the skills to create and finish a lovely 12” x 12” piece of art to display in your own home or give as a special gift. Jim Bowen was a pioneer at teaching mosaic art on Cape Cod, starting at The Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill and later founding the mosaic program at Cape Cod Community College. $175 includes all materials and instruction. Jazz at the Mansion: Tim Ray Trio

Sunday, November 6, 4pm

Playing the piano for a host of legendary stars including Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett, Jazz phenonomen Tim Ray has also made over 60 recordings, toured the world, performed at Carnegie Hall and was welcomed to the White House during the 1992 inauguration. A National Endowment for the Arts grant recipient, Mr. Ray taught jazz piano and improvisation at Boston’s Berklee College of Music for eight years before joining the faculty of the New England Conservatory of Music. Gifts of Food:  The Art of the Cookie

Thursday, November 10, 10:30am-12:30pm

There is nothing sweeter than a homemade cookie, but when it’s creatively decorated, it becomes a tasty work of art.  Let your imagination be your guide:  be serious or whimsical, be adventurous or traditional. The class will be use simple shortbread, sugar or gingerbread —take your cookies to an entirely different level this year! $29 per person. Crooner with Eyes of Blue: The Story of Frank Sinatra presented by Robert Wyatt

Saturday, November 12, 10am

Francis Sinatra’s career took flight from a roadhouse in Englewood Cliffs, NJ in 1939 when trumpeter Harry James rescued him from the ranks of singing waiters. Yet not until Tommy Dorsey coaxed him into his band later that year did Sinatra begin to soar as the idol of the bobby-soxers. Eventually Sinatra was catapulted into an unrivaled entertainment stratosphere until a handsome gyrator named Elvis emerged from the Memphis mists. His life was phenomenal, his story unique. Create Your Victorian Table Top Tree with Anna Holmes

Wednesday, November 16, 6-8pm

Professional florist Anna Holmes will guide you step by step through the creation of this seasonal favorite. Anna will explain the elements of design and provide suggestions for adding your personal touch to your tree. $40 includes all materials, including your choice of red, green, silver or gold ribbons. The Holidays at Highfield

November 25, 26 & 27; December 2, 3 & 4, 10am-4pm

Special Evening Hours:

Friday, December 2 from 5-7:30pm; adult refreshments and caroling

Admission is $5 at the door and includes one raffle ticket; CHILDREN FREE.

A family-fun event, with musical performances, refreshments and photos with Santa, (see website for schedule). New this year: model trains, including The Polar Express.  View the magnificently restored mansion decorated in holiday finery. Upstairs rooms showcase a collection of international crèches, the Any Soldier project, small art works, and the Highfield Gift Gallery featuring a selection of artisan-made wares, candles, jewelry, children's items, hand-knit sweaters, pet goodies and more.  Docent-led group tours are available through advance arrangement.
