Remove obstacles to Falmouth wind turbines

Posted Nov. 1, 2015

I appreciate the thorough presentations in your Oct. 25-26 editions reminding us of the impending negative impact of global warming on the Cape. Scientific discussions documented fossil fuel causing it.

Falmouth put up two large wind turbines to produce electric energy for town plants and functions. Opponents of the turbines have posed technicalities and personal complaints and annoyances to try to shut them down. They seem unaware of the serious health and economic dangers of fossil fuel electricity.

Health Canada has reported a survey of 1,238 households in which it found no association between wind turbine noise and low-frequency sound and any of the perceived symptoms, measured blood pressure and stress hormones, or sleep disturbance. It is not a health issue.

Three articles are on the warrant for special town meeting in Falmouth on Nov. 10 to remove the obstacles and keep the turbines running at full efficiency. I hope all Falmouth citizens will support our town meeting representatives in passing all three articles.

Op-Ed-- Falmouth Money Before Health of Citizens- How Long Can Taxpayers Keep Paying ?

The above letter refers to removing the “obstacles” from around the two illegal permitted wind turbines in Falmouth.

The only explanation for using the sterile language of “ obstacles” is that they are the families that live around the wind turbines and they should be kicked to the curb like an old newspaper. Why not just say it ?

The letter also asks to support the Special Town Meeting articles November 10, 2015

Artilce 1: Asks for more taxpayer money to support the failed wind turbine fiasco. The same thing every year a pit with no bottom. The only ones making money on the turbines are the lawyers.

Article 2; An eminent domain article to throw 40 or so families out on the street. The link is at the bottom of the page. This article if passed would undoubtedly be the start of class action litigation of 200 residential home owners around the turbines. The Falmouth WTOP-CBI meeting said it was too expensive

Article 3: is changing the bylaws because the town got caught using the wrong permit process and hiding noise warning letters, documents and memos.-The seven member Falmouth Planning Board after a brief discussion unanimously voted to indefinitely postpone Article 3. They recommend Town Meeting reject article 3

“First, Do No Harm” Medical ethics A guiding principle for physicians, that whatever the intervention or procedure .Medical doctors have an ethical duty to protect the human rights and human dignity. Not so in Falmouth

On October 19, 2015 the Falmouth Board of Health voted to send a single letter and one study to the Falmouth Select Board and Zoning Board.

The citizens of Falmouth have to ask why only one ( 1 ) letter and study. What about the other documents ?

The Falmouth Board of Health has thousands of written certified noise complaints, studies, documents, emails, letters related to turbine noise and health issues. The material has been collected over the past five years.

The Falmouth Board of Health has only one interest. The financial interest of the wind turbines.

The mission of the Falmouth Board of Health: Protect the public health by regulating environmental complaints.

Falmouth BOH members have a duty to act with reasonable care to prevent harm.

The Town of Falmouth has created a situation where people have been injured and people who have already been injured and are at risk of further injury because of the omission of negative documents from the Falmouth Board of Health

Sleep deprivation causes impaired memory and cognitive functioning, decreased short term memory, speech impairment, hallucinations, psychosis, lowered immunity, headaches, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, stress, anxiety and depression.

Sleep deprivation is the major complaint from the wind turbine victims in Falmouth and other communities with megawatt turbines placed in residential communities.
