Robert Finch to speak in Woods Hole

Cape Cod Naturalist to speak at Woods Hole Woman's Club Meetins

Changing Cape Cod is the title of Robert Finch’s talk at next week’s meeting of the Woods Hole Womans Club. Robert Finch is a nature writer who has lived on Cape Cod since 1971. He has written several books about the natural and human histories of Cape Cod. His first book, Common Ground: A Naturalist's Cape Cod, was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for non-fiction in 1982. He is the author of six collections of essays, most recently The Lambics of Newfoundland, co-edited The Norton Book of Nature Writing and also has taught creative nonfiction writing. Robert Finch’s radio show with the National Public Radio member station WGBH, titled A Cape Cod Notebook, won the 2006 New England Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Radio Writing and continues to be aired each week on WCAI.

The club will gather at 11:30 am on Tuesday, March 8 at Fisher House, Church of the Messiah, Woods Hole. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

The Woods Hole Woman’s Club brings members together to provide enrichment and mutual helpfulness for the betterment of Woods Hole and the surrounding communities. Monthly meetings from October through April include informative presentations, entertainment, and social events. Members raise money for college scholarships and support other community organizations through various club activities. New members are welcomed at any time during the year.
