SPECIAL EVENT: Breakfast with the Authors: Doug Most & Neil Swidey
Join us as we welcome two acclaimed authors to our free & popular summer event!
Join us as we welcome authors, Doug Most & Neil Swidey, on Saturday, June 27 for Falmouth Public Library’s annual Breakfast with the Authors free summer event. Each summer in Falmouth, Breakfast with the Authors brings together recognized Massachusetts authors for an exciting panel discussion and book reading & signing. The program will begin with a light breakfast between 10:00am-10:30am, with the panel discussion starting at 10:30am. Copies of Trapped Under the Sea: One Engineering Marvel, Five Men, and a Disaster Ten Miles into the Darkness and The Race Underground: Boston, New York, and the Incredible Rivalry that Built America’s First Subway will be available for purchase from Eight Cousins Bookstore and signings will take place at the conclusion of the discussion at 11:30am. Doug Most and Neil Swidey will be available for book signings and questions from 11:30am-noon.
Doug Most & Neil Swidey are both acclaimed and nationally recognized authors and journalists. Doug Most has written for Sports Illustrated, Runner’s World and Parents and his stories have appeared in Best American Crime Writing and Best American Sports Writing. Doug Most’s The Race Underground is soon to be a PBS documentary and has received rave reviews from the New York Times, the Economist, and Kirkus Reviews. Neil Swidey’s work has been featured in The Best American Science Writing, The Best American Crime Writing, The Best American Crime Reporting, and The Best American Political Writing. He’s been a three-time winner of the Sigma Delta Chi Award from the Society of Professional Journalists, a four-time winner of the National Headliner Award, and a finalist for the National Magazine Award. The Wall Street Journal called Trapped Under the Sea: “A harrowing account of one of the largest engineering projects in U.S. history…” and the New York Times named it an “impressively reported account.”
