Spring Programs Conclude This Week

The wide array of programs offered this spring were a huge success. We'd like to thank everyone that volunteered!

Falmouth Recreation Department

The month of June in Falmouth brings lots of new faces, good vibes and better weather each day. The Falmouth Commodores are back in town, so be sure to cheer them on this summer at one of their home games behind the Gus Canty Community Center at the Guv Fuller Field. The Spring Baseball League is concluding this week, and we are proud to report that it was another successful campaign this year. A special thanks to all of the parents that volunteered their time coaching our youth baseball players. Your patience and diligence to further educate and inspire the youth of our community is highly commendable and we couldn’t achieve our goals without your help.

Although the sentiment around town is to jump right into summer, we’d like to highlight and congratulate all those whom participated in the wide array of spring programs that were offered this year. Thanks for all those who registered for Archery, Adult Men’s Indoor Soccer, the After School Program sponsored by Jack’s Pact, the Animal Rescue Quest, Early Engineers, and Senior Walking and Talking. We’d also like to thank all of the families that participated in our special events this spring at the Family and Youth Nights, and at the iconic Mother/Son & Father/Daughter Dances. The next time you are at the Gus Canty, don’t forget to recapture those moments by viewing some of the pictures from those memorable nights.

The Falmouth Recreation Department “Person of the Week” award is recognizing two people this week. We’d like to thank Officer Phil Lang from the DNR division of the Department of Marine and Environmental Services and Sue Schoen of Peterson Farm for their help during the final two weeks of the Animal Rescue Quest. Phil helped guide a tour of some of the local Herring runs in town and Sue showed our students how her team of border collies herds a group of sheep on her farm in Woods Hole. We are grateful for your efforts to help us further achieve our goals of recreation within the community. Thank you.
