Teen Injured After Jumping From Falmouth Bridge, Striking Boat
Emergency officials were called to Great Bay Bridge and met the 13-year-old boy near the shore after the boat operator pulled him in.
FALMOUTH, MA — A teenager suffered serious injuries Thursday after jumping from a Falmouth bridge and striking a boat.
Emergency officials were called to Great Bay Bridge and met the 13-year-old boy near the shore after the boat operator pulled him in. Fire officials said the boy was airlifted to Rhode Island Hospital with significant injuries.
Great Bay Bridge is a popular recreational jumping spot because of its proximity to InnSeason Resorts Surfside. Fire officials warned residents that jumping from any bridge is prohibited.

"This, and other bridges, span over very active waterways as well as being part of extensively traveled roadways," fire officials said in a Facebook post.
