FALMOUTH — Opponents of the town’s twin wind turbines will hold a rally at 10 a.m. Saturday at Town Hall, 59 Town Hall Square, to ask local, state and federal governments to protect citizens from the health effects of the alternative energy devices. The rally is being organized by David Moriarty, an anti-wind-turbine activist.

The Falmouth Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public meeting at 9 a.m. March 5 to deliberate on the special-permit application for Wind 1, one of the turbines. The town was forced to go through the permit process after the state Appeals Court ruled last year that the machine, which helps power the wastewater treatment plant, should have received zoning approval before it was constructed.

For more information, contact Moriarty at 774-521-8474 or waveydavei@aol.com.
