Two People Charged With Trafficking Heroin

State Police reportedly recovered 72 grams of heroin in the vehicle.

Massachusetts State Police charged two people with trafficking about 72 grams of heroin on Sunday night.

Trooper Russell Patenaude pulled over a Chevrolet Equinox on Route 28 Southbound in Bourne for motor vehicle violations, but police allegedly found much more.

Police arrested Summer L. Sargent, 19, of Hyannis, and Edwin D. Rivera, 20, of Mashpee after allegedly finding 72 grams of heroin in the vehicle.

Sargent was charged with:

  1. Trafficking in Heroin/Morphine/Opium
  2. OUI-Drugs
  3. Negligent operation of a motor vehicle
  4. Operating a motor vehicle with license suspended
  5. Marked lanes violation
  6. Speeding
