Wareham Father/Son Murder Trials: 1 Convicted
Darius Gamboa, of Wareham, was convicted of murdering a New Bedford man in 2012. Gamboa's father goes on trial soon for the same crime.

FALL RIVER, MA — A Wareham man this week was convicted of murder and his father could face the same fate.
Darius Gamboa, 23, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn.
Police said Gamboa shot and killed Julio Barbosa, 31, outside a New Bedford 7-Eleven in July 2012. Gamboa's father—Ryan Gamboa, 42—allegedly assisted in the murder by chasing Barbosa with a knife.

Quinn told the Associated Press Barbosa's death was "senseless."
Authorities have not revealed a motive for the murder.
