18-Story Tower Planned In Place of Burger King
Skanska USA has proposed a 18-story building on the 1350 Boylston St. lot they bought last year for $12.5 million.

In a proposal submitted to the Boston Redevelopment Authority, Skanska USA is looking to reconstruct the Burger King at 1350 Boylston St. into 240 residential units with ground floor retail space.
"Transforming the site into a 240-unit rental apartment building with ground floor retail and underground parking brings the site into the 21st century, where urban living is sought after, and buildings provide active edges for vibrant pedestrian streets," Skanska said in the report.
According to the proposal, the retail space hold restaurant potential and Skanska USA hopes to create 105 underground parking spaces. Residential units include lofts and studios as well as one and two bedroom apartments.
In July 2012, Skanska USA bought the Burger King lot for $12.5 million. The Boston Redevelopment Authority must approve the plan in order to begin construction.
