Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Physicians Honored For Excellence In Adult And Pediatric Care

Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a multi-specialty physician practice with practices across eastern Massachusetts and an affiliate of Atrius Health, is pleased to announce that its Kenmore practice has been named to the annual Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Honor Roll with Distinction for excellence in adult and pediatric patient care.

Harvard Pilgrim selected the Honor Roll physician groups based on clinical performance measured against national standards set by HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set), a tool developed for the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) to assess the clinical performance of doctors and other medical professionals. Harvard Pilgrim reviewed performance in three domains of clinical care affecting both adult and pediatric patients: acute, chronic and preventive care. Physician groups were identified as Honor Roll practices based on points earned for performance on 16 measures such as appropriate treatment for children with upper respiratory infection, comprehensive diabetes care and breast cancer screenings. Physician groups who perform at or above the national 90th percentile in all three domains are named Honor Roll with Distinction.
