Boston Red Sox Win ALCS, Go To World Series

The Boston Red Sox have played in 12 Fall Classics and won 8, including three since 2004.

FENWAY, MA — David Price recorded his first postseason win as a starter, J.D. Martinez and Rafael Devers hit home runs, and the Red Sox punched their ticket to the World Series with a 4-1 win over the Astros in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series in Houston Thursday night.

There are a lot of happy - and perhaps tired - fans this morning after waiting up until almost midnight to watch Craig Kimbrel record a mostly uneventful save.

Jackie Bradley Jr., who knocked in nine two-out runs with some of the most pivotal hits of the series, won ALCS MVP. He hit a bases-loaded double in Game 1, a grand slam in Game 3, and a two-run home run in Game 4.
