Mike Nichols, District 8 Boston City Council Candidate, calls Boston the "capital of Equal America" as he walked the annual Boston Pride Parade throughout Back Bay and the South End.

BOSTON - Saturday, June 8, 2013 - Boston City Council District 8 Candidate Michael Nichols today joined with local officials, community leaders and members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender (LGBT) community to march in the 2013 Boston Pride Parade.
"Boston is the capital of Equal America and the annual Boston Pride Parade celebrates all that is good about that status," said Nichols. "I look forward to working with this community of dynamic leaders to build on an already positive relationship with City Hall."
Nichols met with LGBT and community activists during the parade and expressed his commitment to working with them at City Hall to eliminate bullying, protect marriage equality, promote equal benefits and equal rights, support LGBT seniors, eliminate employment discrimination, and increase access to affordable housing.
