Faneuil Hall Marketplace Hosts Mega Musical Chairs Showdown Featuring Cocek! Brass Band

(August 5, 2015) Boston, MA- On Friday, August 14, 2015, Faneuil Hall Marketplace will host the first ever Mega Musical Chairs Showdown, featuring the Cocek! Brass Band. Kicking off the last weekend of Summer on the Waterfront’s Downtown Week, Faneuil Hall invites the community to participate in a fun, free competition to the sound of a variety of horns including the tuba, trombone, and trumpet and the bass drum providing the thunderous tempo to keep the games going!

Participants must be registered online and check in by 5:45 p.m. to guarantee a spot in the competition. Any spots still available will be up for grabs after 5:45 p.m. The competition begins at 6:00 p.m. with elimination rounds, followed by a final Champions’ Circle. Prizes, courtesy of the Faneuil Hall Merchants, will be provided for the winners of elimination rounds, and the overall competition. Registration is available online now at EventBrite.

Also, Faneuil Hall Marketplace will participate in the Wharf Festival on Saturday, August 15, from 11 am to 3 pm taking place at Long Wharf. Faneuil Hall Marketplace’s world famous Street Performers will entertain at the festival that also includes children’s dance sessions, carnival games, face painting, Aquarium costumes, and prizes from Magic 106.7 FM. The Street Performers will join Freedom Trail characters who’ll be roaming the wharf, educating attendees about Boston Harbor and local history.

Sunday, August 16, the last day of Downtown Week, celebrates the 90th birthday of the historic schooner Roseway and see her off as she sets sail for Castle Island at 10:30 a.m.
