Jerry Remy Being Treated for Cancer Relapse
The beloved Red Sox announcer said his cancer is back but "it's under control."

Beloved Red Sox announcer Jerry Remy is being treated for a relapse of lung cancer, NESN announced Friday morning.
Remy, 64, followed up on Twitter, saying, "I've been diagnosed with cancer again but it's under control."
The beloved color commentator, who will be entering his 30th year behind the microphone at NESN, missed much of 2009 as he recovered from lung cancer and depression. He revealed in 2013 that he had suffered a relapse early that year, but he didn't miss any games due health reasons that season.

The plan is still for Remy to work his full 115-game schedule.
The Somerset native played nearly his entire major league career with the Red Sox before moving to the booth in 1988, gaining cult-like status in calling thousands of games. He recently signed a multi-year extension with NESN.
