Red Sox Minor League Week in Review
A look back at the week, as both the PawSox and Sea Dogs struggled to string together victories.
The week proved troublesome for both the Pawsox and the Sea Dogs, with the former dropping six of their seven games and getting swept by Columbus. The Sea Dogs won just two, losing their series to Trenton and Binghamton. However, there were a few bright spots, among them Yoan Moncada's two moon shots in Trenton on July 18. Here's a look at last week in the Red Sox farm system:

• July 21: L 4-5 at Columbus Clippers
• July 22: L 0-2 at Columbus Clippers
• July 23: L 6-10 at Columbus Clippers
• July 24: L 2-5 at Columbus Clippers
Highlights: The rash of losses last week for the PawSox don't tell the entire story, as victory was well within the team's reach on multiple days. The PawSox battled back in their final game against the Mud Hens to bring the team within one in the ninth, and the next day engaged in a 14-inning marathon with the Clippers.
Star of the Week: Chris Marrero
The outfielder blased a solo home run in the PawSox 6-10 loss to the Clippers, bringing his total to 19 for the season and an outstanding seven for the month of July.
Prospect Watch:
Marco Hernandez (IF): .307, 2 home runs, 15 RBIs, 1 stolen base
Portland Sea Dogs
• July 18: W 11-4 at Trenton Thunder
• July 19: L 2-3 at Trenton Thunder
• July 20: L 4-7 at Trenton Thunder
• July 21: L 0-4 vs. Binghamton Mets
• July 22: W 9-3 vs. Binghamton Mets
• July 23: L 4-7 vs. Binghamton Mets
• July 24: L 1-2 vs. Binghamton Mets
Highlights: The Sea Dogs were able to synch their pitching and offense for two dominant wins last week. Yoan Moncada continued to prove why he is one of the hottest prospects in the league, crushing two homers in Portland's 11-4 win over Trenton, and starter Teddy Stankiewicz turned in a commanding performance against Binghamton on July 22 as his offense provided more than enough support.
Star of the Week: Teddy Stankiewicz
Stankiewicz pitched six innings in the Sea Dogs' win over the Mets, allowing just three runs and five hits while striking out six to tie a season high.
Prospect Watch:
Yoan Moncada (2B): .275, 7 home runs, 20 RBIs, 7 stolen bases
Andrew Benintendi (OF): .276, 6 home runs, 34 RBIs, 7 stolen bases
