Did Pedro Martinez Make Racist Comments Last Night?: WATCH
The former Sox ace was under fire for questionable language and antics when talking about the Cleveland Indians on Columbus Day.
The spotlight was deservedly all on David Ortiz Monday night, but it was his countryman and former teammate who got some backlash.
Former Red Sox ace Pedro Martinez made comments considered by many to be offensive during the TBS postgame show, saying he used to "hunt Indians, but now I'm gonna pay tribute to the Indians." He followed by making what seemed to be a mocking Native American "war cry" of sorts.
It was particularly ill-timed with Monday being Columbus Day, or, as some recognize it, Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Martinez was quick to take to Twitter and apologize.
I send my apologies if I was misunderstood when I was trying to pay tribute to the Cleveland Indians on the TBS post season show.

I was referring to my pitching years facing Cleveland. Nothing else. Again, my apologies.

One of the finest moments of Martinez's career came at the expense of the Cleveland Indians, who knocked out Ortiz and the Red Sox Monday night in Game 3 of the American League Division Series at Fenway Park.
