Some Red Sox Fans Cry Foul On Seemingly Fair Catch

Was this pivotal Astros catch against the wall indeed a catch? You make the call.

It was certainly some kind of catch. Or was it?

Social media was aflutter after Houston Astros left fielder Tony Kemp's stellar leaping catch robbing Boston's Steve Pearce of a one- or two-run double in the third inning of Tuesday's ALCS Game 3. Kemp, all 5 feet 6 inches of him, stretched out to make the snag before smashing hard against the left-field wall.

The catch ended Boston's scoring threat and kept it a 2-1 Red Sox lead.

But internet sleuths - likely ones from the Northeast - questioned the veracity of the catch, which was challenged by the Red Sox and immediately affirmed by the replay center in New York. Some thought the ball hit off the wall right before settling into Kemp's glove.
