Sox Rally to Win, But OF Could be Lost

Just as some players return from the flu, one outfielder could be headed to the disabled list.

Sandy Leon proved an unlikely hero yet again in the Red Sox' 7-5 win over the Tigers Sunday in Detroit.

Leon highlighted a four-run eighth-inning rally with a two-run single to put the Sox on top after an uneven outing from Rick Porcello in his return to Detroit. The catcher also hit a walkoff three-run home last week against Pittsburgh.

The Sox got some more bad news on the health front. An MRI showed dynamic center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. sprained his knee in Saturday's loss while rounding first base, an injury that could land him on the disabled list.

Boston will try to escape Detroit with a split Monday when Chris Sale toes the rubber against Justin Verlander in one of the early season's marquee pitching matchups.
