WALCZAK TESTIFIES BEFORE BOSTON CITY COUNCIL; URGES STOP TO BAD DEAL WITH CAESARS AND CITYWIDE VOTE

BOSTON - Bill Walczak, candidate for Mayor of Boston, today testified before the Boston City Council telling the Council that the deal with Caesars is a “pipedream” since new evidence shows Caesars on the brink of financial disaster.
Recent reports have called into question Caesars financial stability and gambling revenue projections upon which the entire Boston mitigation agreement is based.
“The casino will have to clear $500 a day on every slot machine – that is $2.5 million dollars a day out of the pockets of Bostonians,” said Walczak. “This projected gaming revenue number is ludicrous. This casino will have to clear more revenue than any casino in the Western Hemisphere. The only way to mitigate the problems associated with a casino is not to have one – and if I’m elected mayor I will stop this casino.”
