Xander Bogaerts Hits The Disabled List
The shortstop has a crack in his ankle, the team announced.

BOSTON, MA — Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts avoided major injury but will still need a stint on the disabled list. The team announced Monday afternoon that Bogaerts has been placed on the 10-day disabled list for a small crack in his left ankle. The injury was revealed after an MRI and X-ray.
Bogaerts is expected to be out up to two weeks. He hurt himself sliding into the dugout to chase down a ball Sunday at Fenway Park.
Bogaerts has been the Red Sox' hottest hitter this season. He is hitting .368 with two home runs, 9 RBIs, and a league-leading seven doubles.
