• Fitchburg State University to host free summer concerts (sentinelandenterprise.com) — Fitchburg State University is inviting city residents onto campus for a free Summer Series of outdoor movies, concerts, and family nights every Thursday from July 9–30. Bring blankets or chairs for Main Quad events, enjoy kid-focused activities and live bands, and know that student programs benefit from snack sales, with indoor backup space if it rains.
   

• Fitchburg, Lunenburg join forces on diamond (sentinelandenterprise.com) — Fitchburg and Lunenburg youth baseball leagues are combining top players into Montachusett-branded all-star teams for the Massachusetts Cal Ripken Tournament, with several games hosted in Fitchburg. The partnership lets more kids play at their true age level and keeps local baseball traditions strong while competing across North Central Massachusetts this week.
   

• Court OKs ballot question that would eliminate party primaries in Mass. (wbur.org) — Fitchburg residents will see a major election reform question on this fall’s statewide ballot after Massachusetts’ highest court cleared an all-party primary system for a vote. The measure, backed by a coalition that includes Fitchburg Mayor Sam Squailia, would put all candidates on a single primary ballot, with the top two finishers advancing to November regardless of party.
