2 More Foxboro Candidates Take Out Nomination Papers For Election

With two more candidates taking out nomination papers over the last week, there are now 14 candidates running for office in Foxborough.

FOXBOROUGH — Since last week, two more candidates have taken out nomination papers, signaling they will run for office in the May 6 election.

One of those candidates is an incumbent seeking reelection, Town Moderator Francis Spillane. Katherine M.S. Udden will run for one of the two open library trustee seats after turning in her nomination papers this week. With two more candidates taking out nomination papers over the last week, there are now 14 candidates who have taken out papers for the May election.

  • Moderator: Francis J. Spillane (incumbent)
  • Town Clerk: Robert E. Cutler, Jr. (incumbent) - returned papers
  • Board of Selectmen: Robert Palie
  • Board of Selectmen: Edward T. O'Leary - returned papers
  • Board of Selectmen: Mark S. Elfman (incumbent)
  • Board of Assessors: Robert L. O'Donnell (incumbent)
  • School Committee: Brent Ruter - returned papers
  • School Committee: Christopher S. Connolly (incumbent)
  • Water & Sewer Commission: Robert T. Garber (incumbent) - returned papers
  • Board of Health: Eric S. Arvedon (incumbent) - returned papers
  • Boyden Library Trustee: Christine Igo Freeman (incumbent)
  • Boyden Library Trustee: Katherine M.S. Udden
  • Planning Board: Ronald P. Bresse (incumbent)
  • Housing Authority: Gregory P. Spier (incumbent) - returned papers

Voters in 2019 will have plenty of decisions to make, as 13 positions are up for a vote on the May ballot. Candidates have until March 18 to return the papers with signatures from at least 50 registered Foxborough voters, so make sure to check back to see who's running.

The following positions will be on the ballot. All carry a term of three years, with the exception of the Housing Authority opening, which last five years:
