4th Of July Fireworks In Foxborough: What You Need To Know

Gillette Stadium will once again host the Finish at the 50 5K/10K and post-race fireworks.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Gillette Stadium is once again preparing to host a 4th of July festival dedicated to fitness and appropriately enough, patriotism.

The home of the New England Patriots and New England Revolution will host the eight annual Finish at the 50 Road Race on July 3 and post-race fireworks at Patriot Place.

As in past years, there will be a 5K that will take place on stadium grounds and a 10K that goes around Foxborough and Patriot Place. Both races will end inside the stadium at midfield. A kids fun run for children 2-12 will be held prior to the road races.

Runners in the 5K and 10K will have the chance to enter the field under the Patriots inflatable helmet and see themselves finish on the stadium's video board as an announcer calls the names of the finishers.

Fireworks will follow the races.

The Races

The 5K Course

The 5K course will start outside Gillette Stadium, travel around the perimeter of the stadium grounds, and enter the stadium through the Bank of America Gate located in the northwest corner of the stadium. The course proceeds up the ramps from level 100 to level 300, the top level of Gillette Stadium. The elevation up the ramps lasts for about one-quarter of a mile and is a medium grade rise. The course then proceeds along the top section of the stadium offering unobstructed views of the field and the surrounding area.

The route travels down the ramps through the mid-level of Gillette Stadium. You will then circle back and head out of the stadium using the ramps towards the back of the stadium. Once out of the stadium, you will then run a short loop that brings you back into the stadium through a tunnel and onto the field. The finish is at the 50 yard line inside the stadium. No strollers or baby buggies allowed.

The course is measured for accuracy, but is not USATF certified.

The 10K Course

The USATF-certified 10K starts on the east side of Gillette Stadium and travels along some campus roadways before going up Route 1 and taking a right on North Street. The course continues with a left on Beach Street, right on Edwards Road, left on Young Road, and a left back onto North Street. Runners will return to stadium grounds via Putnam Parkway. The course goes behind the practice fields and the field house before turning towards Gillette Stadium. Runners will enter Gillette Stadium at the Ubid Gate and proceed along the 100-level concourse to the south ramp where they will exit the stadium and then enter again on the east side to finish at midfield.
