Advisory Committee Releases Endorsements for Town Meeting
The 2017 Annual Town Meeting is scheduled for Monday.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Foxborough's advisory committee has endorsed the entirety of the warrant for Monday's town meeting.
The group took a positive stance on 21 of the 24 warrants, with no vote taken on the first three articles, which are dedicated to the result of the town election, the town report, and committee reports.
The most notable article on the warrant pertains to recreational marijuana. If passed, Article 25 would prohibit all types of commercial marijuana establishments in Foxborough. At the town election, residents voted in a favor of the ban and a vote at town meeting is needed to solidify the ban. If approved, in-home consumption and medical marijuana laws would not be affected. The committee voted 10-0-0 to endorse the article.

Article 20 formally allows the town manager to declare a winter parking ban as deemed necessary for snow and ice removal between Nov 1-April 30. Article 21, which would create a snow removal bylaw, also received an endorsement by a vote of 10-0-0. Under the proposed by law, the director of the Department of Public Works will decide to begin snow and ice control operations. Streets will be prioritized by importance.
