Alleged Robber Followed Quincy Woman From Casino To Home: Cops

Police say Ty Shon Forbes targeted his victim after watching her receive a high payout at Twin River Casino.

QUINCY, MA — A man followed a woman home from Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island before attacking her outside her home, police said. Ty Shon Forbes, 21, of West Warwick, Rhode Island, was arrested and charged with unarmed robbery and assault and battery on a person over 60, according to the Quincy Police Department.

Police allege that Forbes allegedly targeted the victim after watching her receive a large cashout at the casino. He then followed her to her Quincy home, where police say Forbes threw the victim to the ground and stole her handbag. After stealing her bag, the suspect ran across the street and entered a small black motor vehicle that was waiting for him.

The victim was transported to Quincy Medical Center with serious injuries. She reported that a substantial amount of money was inside her pocketbook when it was stolen. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle, but were unsuccessful.

The victim stated that she recognized the suspect as someone she saw at the casino.

Forbes is due in Quincy District Court Wednesday.
