Architect and Project Manager for New Town Hall Announced.

Plus, find out how much the town will ask for at town meeting to cover the soft costs of a new town hall.

A pair of familiar groups will be used to create the plans for a new town hall.

Town Manager Bill Keegan announced on Tuesday night that LLB Architects of Providence, RI will be the architect that will design the new town hall and Vertex Construction has been awarded the bid to be the project manager.

LLB Architects previously worked on the Boyden Library renovation and Vertex Construction also worked on the project towards the end.

Selectman Jim DeVellis, who had worked with LLB in the past, called their design impeccable and that there was seldom a project he was from them where the expenses were more than estimated.

Vertex Construction’s work on the Dracut Town Hall project was considered a selling point. Like the Foxborough proposal, Dracut’s new town hall was build behind the old one in the parking lot.

According to Keegan, the costs for both services will be $557,585, about one percent above the estimated cost of $550,000.

The funding for the architect and the project manager will need the approval of article three from residents at the special town meeting on Nov. 17.

With the special town meeting weeks away, the town hall working group will hold a question and answer session for the article requesting the funds to cover the soft costs. Residents are welcomed to attend the session on Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in the Foxborough High School Media Center.
