Charges Dropped Against Patriots' Christian Barmore: Report

The charges were dropped during Barmore's arraignment hearing on Monday.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The charges against New England Patriots Defensive Tackle Christian Barmore were dropped Monday, according to a report from Boston 25 News.

During what was supposed to be Barmore’s arraignment in Attleboro District Court on March 9, the prosecution told the judge that the case was no longer viable due to new information from the alleged victim in the situation.

Barmore was originally charged with one misdemeanor count of assault and battery on a family/household member from an occurrence on Aug. 8 of last year at Barmore’s home in the town of Mansfield. The accuser, who was reportedly in a relationship with Barmore at the time, had her phone taken from her after the pair had gotten into a verbal altercation about the air conditioning temperature in the home as well as food, according to documents.

The documents then state that Barmore grabbed the woman and threw her onto the floor as she was trying to leave the house, followed by grabbing her by the shirt in the area of her neck as she tried to get back up, before eventually letting her go. The altercation reportedly took place in front of the couple’s two-year-old child. The criminal complaint was first issued on Tuesday, Dec. 16. The arraignment was originally scheduled on Tuesday, Feb. 3, but was delayed.

The prosecution also said on Monday that Barmore and the woman are still in contact to this day.

Barmore was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by New England out of the University of Alabama. The Philadelphia native has been arguably one of the team’s best players since his arrival and formed a formidable interior defensive line duo in 2025 with Milton Williams.
