Belichick Unaware of Michael Floyd's BAC Before Signing

The Patriots head coach didn't have much more to say about the wide receiver's recent arrest.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Thursday morning that he wasn't aware of Michael Floyd's blood alcohol following his recent arrest, offering little new comment.

Speaking to the media for the first time since the test was released, Belichick was asked if he knew the extent of the wide receiver's blood-alcohol content test before he became a member of the team.

"No, not if it was just released," Belichick told reporters.

Belichick wouldn't comment on if that changed anything in his eyes.

"(Floyd's) in a legal situation. I can’t comment on his legal situation. I appreciate you asking about it though," Belichick said.

Floyd was arrested during the early hours of Dec. 12 after police observed a vehicle stopped at an intersection for two light cycles. According to released video, police at the scene found a passed out Floyd behind the wheel who was disoriented when he woke up.

According to Scottsdale police, Floyd registered a .217, well above the legal limit of .08. If convicted of what is called a "Super Extreme DUI” by Arizona law, Floyd could face up to 45 days in jail.

Floyd has yet to play a game for the Patriots but could make his debut Saturday against the New York Jets
