Big Y Site Plan Approved

The Planning Board approved the site plan and special permit for the construction of a Big Y supermarket in Foxfield Plaza.

The Supermarket site plan and special permit got the OK last week from the Foxborough planning board.

The planning board, which has held with residents and representatives of the company over the last month, voted unanimously to approve the site plan and special permit for the construction of a Big Y supermarket in Foxfield Plaza.

The plan for supermarket includes renovating the Foxboro Furniture building, approximately 35,000-square-feet, into space for retail tenants.

The Big Y, which already has 29 stores throughout Massachusetts, plans to construct a 56,100-square-foot building where the L-shaped strip of shops is currently located at Foxfield Plaza.

Questions of construction traffic were addressed and it was determined that truck traffic will enter from the Foxboro Boulevard entrance. Conditions for over-size trucks include prohibiting the entrance through Central Street between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
