Bill Belichick Loves Referencing Foxborough HS in His Player Burns

When the Patriots coach is mad at his players, he loves to tell them that the Warriors could do a better job.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Based on Bill Belichick's past insults, he's got another football team in Foxborough he can rely on if members of the New England Patriots let him down.

A recent article from The Ringer on the Patriots head coach revealed that Foxborough High School references are among his favorite insults and burns, especially for those who can't handle the snap, as Jimmy Garoppolo recalled.

“Coach Belichick hit me with ‘Foxborough High School has been getting snaps right all year. You feel terrible. Because you realize, Wow, it’s true,” Garoppolo told the website.

Quarterback Zac Robinson, who was drafted by the Patriots in 2010 but was released that September, said Belichick told him he was going to go to Foxborough High School and find someone to take snaps after he was caught fumbling the ball.

Not even Tom Brady is immune from Belichick's favorite burn. In October, former Patriots running back Kevin Faulk told ESPN that he loved it when Belichick would yell "Hey, Tom, I could go get the quarterback at Foxborough High to do it better than that."

So how does being in regular rotation on Belichick's list of insults sit with legendary Foxborough Warriors coach Jack Martinelli? He told Boston.com that it's a compliment and that "it's pretty awesome that we are even on the radar screen.”

Of course, Martinelli and his Warriors are no strangers to Gillette Stadium.Earlier this season, the team was at the stadium to film a pregame segment for the Patriots' Thursday night game against the Houston Texans.
