Bob Kraft, Patriots Players Spend Halloween with Boston Police

Kraft and the players had a discussion about community policing and went on a ride-along in Boston.

BOSTON, MA — Patriots owner Robert Kraft and three members of the team didn't spend their Halloween handing out candy to trick or treaters. Rather, they were with members of the Boston Police Department.

Kraft, along with Devin McCourty, LeGarrett Blount, and Matthew Slater, visited the police department last Monday to show their support and to learn more about the challenges officers are facing, Boston police said.

The four started the evening with a discussion about football and community policing with Commissioner William Evans before visiting a basketball game between police officers and neighborhood kids at the Saint Peter's Teen Center in Dorchester.

The evening ended with a ride-along with members of the Youth Violence Strike Force that gave Kraft and the Patriots a look at what a Boston police officer's shift is like.

"We appreciate them stopping by during their precious downtime, look forward to seeing them back in action next week and wish them luck in the second half of the regular season. Go Patriots!" the police department wrote on their website.

This isn't the first time a member of the Patriots has shown support for the Boston Police Department. Following an October incident in East Boston that saw two officers get shot, coach Bill Belichick expressed appreciation and support for the department during a press conference two days later.
