Boston Globes Names Foxborough Field Hockey to All-Scholastic Team; Coach as D2 Coach of the Year

Goalkeeper Kelli McCarthy and coach Melissa Bordieri were both recently recognized by the Boston Globe

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A successful field hockey season was has turned some heads and brought awards to Foxborough.

Sunday, the Boston Globe announced that goalkeeper Kelli McCarthy was named to the All-Scholastic team and head coach Mellisa Bordieri was named the Division 2 Coach of the Year.

McCarthy, a junior who has committed to Navy, made 115 saves in 23 games, with 15 shutouts. With her in net, the Warriors won their first Division 2 South Sectional Championship and advanced to the Division 2 semifinals.

Bordieri wins the award on the heels of one of the best field hockey seasons in school history. The 15-year head coach has a record of 167-90-48.

The Warriors finished the season with a record of 19-3-1.
