Create and Relate: Art with your Teen

We are all looking for ways to relate to our teenagers. With some it can be harder than others. Sometimes it seems as if they have no interests at all.

As a parent you have to strive even harder in these cases to reach your children. There are many ways out there to get on their level or even bring them into something that you enjoy. It's all about relating to one another and finding something that can get them talking, you know how are that can be sometimes.

Why not try art? And why not try it together? Art can be intimidating and a challenge, but with the support of a parent teens will be more apt to try something new. And if they are already budding young artists it is a great way to see into their world as a parent.

Hunakai Studio of Fine Arts Foxboro is offering some new classes where the focus is joining the young and not so young together to create and relate.

Pastels - Mondays 6-8pm and Saturdays 3-5pm
Ceramics - Tuesdays 6-8pm
Oil Painting - Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm
Sculpture - Thursdays 6-8pm
Independent Projects - Thursdays 6:30-8:30pm

If art is not on either of your radars, try something else. There are lots of other activities that can be enjoyed by both, you just have to make an effort. Teens are always looking for something to do so why not do it with you?
