Dogsblog- Let's go for a walk
Dogs love to walk, it's the best part of their day and it could be the best part of yours. With the slightly warmer weather, enjoy the spring, take your dog for a walk around town.
Dogs are everywhere and I love it. Happy tails wagging at the Booth fields, on South Street, the common and even in the parking lot at Mansfield crossing. With the slightly warmer weather, spring sports season and longer days, Foxboro dogs are out on the town.
We all are enjoying the sounds, sights and smells of spring, even more this year after the awful winter we had in Foxboro. For many of us dog owners, the best part of our day is walking our dog, or in my case my two, and sometimes three dogs. Let me introduce them, we have two gorgeous golden retrievers, Tessie age 3 and Summer, age 1. My third is another golden, Papi, who I watch for my neighbors when they are away. I like to consider him mine too or as I tell his owners, we "dogshare." More on that topic in another post.
My girls know when it's time for a walk and remind me just in case I forget. In the morning, they lie in wait, blocking my path to the door to make sure that I can't leave for the bus stop without them. Then, when the kids or I open the door, they rush it like two linebackers. Later in the day, usually after lunch or after the kids get home from school, they start following me expectantly, waiting, hoping, suggesting..... And so we go.

For me, there is nothing as satisfying as making my dogs so happy they are leaping in the air, tails wagging and smiling (yes, dogs do smile). I love the exercise, a chance to clear my head and maybe talk with friends or neighbors I encounter on the way. I also just really like spending time with my dogs and family when they join us.
How about you? What do you like about walking your dog? Don't just watch them walk by, get out there and join them, your dog will be thrilled and you might like it too.
