Revs Go Down In The Texas Heat 1-0 To FC Dallas
The Revs had to deal with the heat and FC Dallas Saturday Night.Read how they fared in the great state of Texas.
The New England Revolution were on the road Saturday Night to face FC Dallas at Pizza Hut Park. It was a hot night in Texas, and so was the home team. FC Dallas really controlled this match from beginning to end. The Revs hung in there, but in the middle of the second half, FC Dallas got the game winner from a great goal by Marvin Chavez. The Revs go down in the Texas heat 1-0 to FC Dallas.
The first half saw FC Dallas really take control of the match from very beginning. In the 21st minute, they had their first quality chance to score. Brek Shea sent a wonderful pass to Marvin Chavez inside the box. His shot was nicely saved by Matt Reis to deny FC Dallas a goal.
The Revs best chance to score came in the 27th minute. Chris Tierney linked up with Rajko Lekic, who set up an opportunity for Shalrie Joseph. His screaming shot was saved by FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.

At times during the first half, the Revs did show glimpses of solid play with good possession. However, the Revs would also lose the ball too easily to FC Dallas, which would in turn put the pressure back on New England. It was an uneven first half performance for the Revs, but there were no goals given up. The first half ended 0-0.
The second half began similar to the first, as the Revs were under serious pressure from FC Dallas. In the 65th minute, FC Dallas would have a great scenario to score. Chavez would send a pass to Fabian Castillo. He would be one on one with Reis, and have two chances to get a goal. His first shot was saved by Reis, but gets away from the goalkeeper. Castillo would get to the ball, but again his shot would be saved by the Revs goalkeeper. Reis kept the Revs level and in this match at that point.

FC Dallas would continue to wear the Revs down. There hard work would finally pay off in the 69th minute. Chavez would make a great run down the right side, and eventually get by A.J. Soares. He beat Reis to the near post on a wonderful shot that went into the net. FC Dallas took the lead 1-0.
The Revs best chances to get level would start in the 82nd minute. They would have 3 corners in a very short period of time. However, the defense of FC Dallas would take care of these scoring opportunities.
The Revs were fortunate not to see the FC Dallas lead double late in the match. In the 88th minute, Chavez had a great shot from the top of the box. Reis makes a great diving save to deny Chavez a second goal.
In the end, the Revs did not have many answers for FC Dallas. They go down to the home team 1-0.
Going into the match, this was going to be a tough spot for the Revs. FC Dallas are a real good team, and they showed it Saturday Night. The statistics show the differences in the game between the two clubs. The Revs had 3 shots while FC Dallas had 16. New England also had 2 shots on goal while FC Dallas had 7.
For the Revs to have a successful season they are going to have to figure out a way to create much more offense than they are at this time. They have spells of very good possession, but key turnovers have affected any momentum they seem to build up.
The Revs will next be on the road to face the New York Red Bulls. The game takes place on Friday June 10th at 8:30 EST at Red Bull Arena.
