Revs vs. Red Bulls :Match Preview
The Revs are in action Saturday night against the New York Red Bulls. Read who I am predicting to win this match.
The Revs are coming off of a 1-1 draw to the Houston Dynamo at Gillette Stadium Wednesday night. They will be home Saturday night to face the New York Red Bulls at Gillette Stadium. The match takes place at 7:30 PM EST. The game will be shown on Comcast SportsNet New England, and also can be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
In their last match, the Revs (4-11-10, 22 points) actually led in the 4th minute on a goal by Ryan Cochrane. The Revs had a great performance by goalkeeper Matt Reis. Unfortunately, the Dynamo scored on a goal by Bobby Boswell in the 90th minute to make the game level. The match ended 1-1. The Revs desperately need 3 points Saturday night against the Red Bulls.
In their last match, the New York Red Bulls (6-6-13, 31 points), played the Chicago Fire at home last Saturday night. The Red Bulls had to come from behind in the second half to earn a 2-2 drew with the Fire. They will certainly be looking for a huge road victory at Gillette Stadium Saturday night.

The teams met at Red Bull Arena on June 10th. The Red Bulls led at the half 1-0, and Thierry Henry doubled the lead in the 50th minute. Zak Boggs scored in the 54th minute to make the match close, but it was too little too late. Unfortunately, the Revs went down in that match 2-1.
The Revs do have injury concerns for this match. According toRevolutionsoccer.net, here are the injuries for the club.

Probable: Rajko Lekic (toe fracture), Chris Tierney (foot sprain)
Out: Kheli Dube (whiplash), Franco Coria (MCL sprain), Sainey Nyassi (MCL sprain)
Key players to watch for the Revs are defender A.J. Soares and midfielder Benny Feilhaber. Soares played a great game against the Dynamo. With Matt Reis suspended for this game, he will be needed to be at his best in central defense against the Red Bulls. Feilhaber will be counted on to feed the ball to Milton Caraglio.
Key players to watch for the Red Bulls are forward Thierry Henry and midfielder Joel Lindpere. Henry leads the Red Bulls with 12 goals, and still is a very dangerous striker. He will need to be contained if the Revs plan on winning this match. Lindpere has 6 goals and 5 assists this season. He could be a difference maker from the midfield position.
The Revs had a tremendous opportunity to get 3 points Wednesday slip through their fingers. Without Reis in goal for the Revs, I don't feel very confident that they can contain the Red Bulls. I am predicting a 2-0 victory for the New York Red Bulls against the New England Revolution.
