Conservation Commission Rejects East Street Housing Project

The 12-lot subdivision would have spanned the Canoe River.

A proposal to build a 12-lot subdivision of single family homes, on septic systems at 204 East St. has been denied by the conservation commission.

The project was rejected by the conservation commission last week, on the grounds that the plan did not satisfy the requirements for a limited project request under the wetland protection act according to the Foxboro Reporter.

The project would have been on the Canoe River, which feeds an aquifer supplying drinking water to local towns including Mansfield, Norton, and Easton.
