Decreasing Water Level in Lake in Foxborough and Plainville Leaves Residents Worried
Concerns about Attleboro drawing water from Lake Mirimichi are growing.

Issues surrounding Attleboro’s right to withdraw water from Lake Mirimichi has residents concerned after a noticeable decrease in the lake’s water level.
Tuesday night, over 60 people gathered in the South Foxboro Community Center according to the Sun Chronicle. Also in attendance were state and local elected officials.
Mary Waltuck, one of the organizers, said that Attleboro does have a right to draw water from the lake, but the city’s withdrawal policy has resulted in an increase in the lake’s temperature. While Foxborough and Plainville have outdoor water restrictions, Attleboro does not.
