
FOXBOROUGH, MA — It's going to take more than birthday cupcakes to get Dont'a Hightower to sign a contract.
The New England Patriots linebacker will re-sign with team, his agency firm tweeted Wednesday afternoon. The four-year deal is worth $43.5 million with $19 million in guaranteed money.

Hightower was considered to be at the top of the list of players for the team to re-sign. In five seasons, the team's defensive signal caller has earned 372 tackles and 17 sacks.
