Eastern Mountain Sports Announces Planned Closure of Patriot Place Store
The store's parent company will close two other EMS stores in New England as part of a bankruptcy plan.
FOXBOROUGH, MA - Eastern Mountain Sports at Patriot Place is among three New England stores scheduled to close.
EMS's parent company Vestis Retail Group LLC announced Monday that they have filed for bankruptcy protection, according to CBS Boston. The company cited increased competition from big-box stores and online retailers, along with a warmer winter for poor sales of winter clothing.
Also scheduled to close as part of the bankruptcy plan are their Warwick, R.I. and West Hartford, Conn. locations.

The Foxborough EMS opened in 2008 as one of the original Patriot Place stores.
