To inspire local families to get active and healthy, Stop & Shop and other community leaders are helping to combat childhood obesity with its first “Healthy Kids Summit.” The event will be comprised of a brief 30-minute panel discussion and Q&A session to provide tips for families to make small, easy changes to get healthy. The panel will include a New England Patriots player; Julie Menounos, Stop & Shop’s first in-store nutritionist; Ed Hurley, president, Hockomock YMCA; and Karen Zangari, registered dietician, on behalf of the New England Dairy Board.
The panel and Q&A session will be followed by an energetic HOPSports fitness routine right on the New England Patriots’ practice field, led by Brandy Cruthird, owner of Body by Brandy Fitness Studio in Boston.
The event is free. Families, schools, caregivers, media and community organizations are invited to attend.
