Ex-New England Patriots Star Charged With 4 Felonies
The four-time All-Pro cornerback "feared for his safety," his attorney said.
Former New England Patriots Super Bowl-winning cornerback Darrelle Revis was charged with four felonies and one misdemeanor after an alleged altercation in Pittsburgh.
Revis was charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony count of robbery, one felony count of conspiracy and a misdemeanor of terroristic threats. As of late early Friday morning, he was not in custody, but his agent Blaine Jones told ESPN Revis is arranging to turn himself in.
Revis was in the South Side of Pittsburgh early Sunday morning before 3 a.m. when a 22-year-old Pennsylvania man spotted him and began following him and filming on his cellphone, according to a police statement.

Revis then threw the cellphone on the street, police said. A 21-year-old Pennsylvania man helped the other man get his phone, and the men and Revis started arguing. Police say another man then came to help Revis.
The 21-year-old and 22-year-old men told police they were then hit. Witnesses told police the men were unconscious for 10 minutes.

Jones told ESPN Revis was attacked by five men. He knocked the phone away because he wasn't sure whether it was a weapon or he was about to be robbed or assaulted, Jones said. "He feared for his safety."
"The bottom line is, Darrelle Revis was the victim in all of this," Jones said.
Jones also told ESPN Revis suffered injuries, but did not detail the nature or severity of them.
Revis, he of "Revis Island" fame, was the NFL's premier cornerback for years before joining the Patriots for the 2014 season. He was terrific in his one year with the team, leading the defense in a Super Bowl win over Seattle.
Now 31, Revis showed noticeable signs of slippage last season with the New York Jets.
