FEMA Awards Foxborough, Mansfield Fire Shared Grant For New Gear
The Foxborough and Mansfield fire departments received a shared grant of about $139,000 from FEMA for new equipment.
FOXBOROUGH, MA — FEMA awarded a shared grant of about $139,000 to the Foxborough and Mansfield fire departments for new equipment. The grant money will be used to purchase a firefighting hose and vehicle extrication equipment.
The award was granted through three grants: the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighter, Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response and Fire Prevention & Safety (FP&S) grant programs. Over $5.8 million in grants were given to Massachusetts fire departments.
"Firefighters across Massachusetts and the country put their lives on the line for our communities every single day," U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren said in a statement. "We owe it to them to ensure they have the federal resources they need to continue safeguarding these communities. These FEMA grants will help us achieve that goal."
