Flight Delays, Cancellations at Logan Won't Stop Patriots From Coming Home

Massport said the Super Bowl champs will be welcomed back home on Monday night.

Despite 11 flight delays and seven cancellations at Logan Airport so far on Monday morning, Massport is confident that Logan Airport will welcome home the New England Patriots from Arizona on Monday night.

The Patriots flew out of Logan last Monday shortly before the Blizzard of 2015 hit and will now return to Boston after another foot of snow falls during Monday’s storm.

Massport Director of Aviation Ed Freni toldCBSBoston that the arrival time may change on Monday night, but the airport will be ready for the Super Bowl champs.

Freni said Logan will remain open during the storm with the goal of keeping two runways open.

The storm is causing massive delays and cancellations across the country. As of 9 a.m., Chicago’s O’Hare Airport had already cancelled 141 flights. New York area airports had reported 88 delays and 56 cancellations as of 9 a.m.,according to FlightAware MiseryMap.
