Foxborough Designates Parking Space For Veterans At Town Hall
Veteran Fred Shannon used the "Blue Stars Banner" for the parking space's design.
FOXBOROUGH, MA — Town officials unveiled a new parking space reserved for veterans at the town hall. Veteran Services director Ally Rodriguez enlisted the help of local veterans and town employees to decorate a parking space with the "Blue Stars Banner," a service flag flown to honor all who served in the military during any period of war. Veteran and Department of Public Works employee Fred Shannon, along with the help of his department, marked out and painted the space.
The Veteran Services office invited local veterans, town officials and community members to a ceremony Aug. 1 celebrate to unveil the parking space.
Rodriguez said she excited and honored to "provide this space to all of the individuals who served our country, and more importantly, make their lives a little easier."

Selectmen chair Mark Elfman and other town officials spoke at the ceremony. Elfman said he has "unending gratitude" for anyone who has served in the military.
"Hopefully this parking spot will remind veterans that Foxborough thanks them for their service", said Elfman.
