Foxborough Fire Use State Grant To Bue Bulletproof Vests and Helmets
The eight vests are for incidents like active shooter situations.

In May, firefighters in Chelsea were shot at while responding to a calls. Now, the Foxborough Fire Department is taking precautions in the event that they are in a similar situation.
The fire department recently purchased new ballistic protection gear with a state grant. The new equipment includes vests and and helmets. The eight sets purchased by the department costs $1,200 each, according to WFXT.
Foxborough firefighter and paramedic Erick Berg said the goal is not to wear them, but to have them as extra protection. The biggest concern, he said, is responding to an active shooter situation.
