Foxborough Founders Day Wagon, Doll Parade Airing Over Holidays
Although Foxborough Founders Day was canceled this year, a virtual and socially distanced parade was still taped for the community to enjoy.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The coronavirus pandemic may have canceled the annual Foxborough Founder's Day celebration this year, but that doesn't mean residents couldn't find creative ways to celebrate the town's history.
The town's biggest community party started as a small gathering on the town common 32 years ago, and has grown into a celebration with a parade, field day, fireworks and more. It was originally scheduled for June 13, but was canceled because of the pandemic.
But one tradition prevailed.

The annual wagon, carriage and doll parade still took place virtually and in a socially distanced setting. And the hard work of the kids and their families will premiere on Foxboro Cable Access over the holidays.
"The reason we decided to do something this year rather than outright cancel everything was because we felt this would be a nice way to bring the community together during some pretty challenging times," said Frank Sturm, a member of the Foxborough Founders Day Committee. "At the end of the day, it’s all for fun and as long as families and kids enjoyed it, that’s the most important thing."

Sturm said the parade entries were taped back in June and were edited into a video by Foxborough Cable Access. The 18-minute video was hosted by Maria Stephanos, an anchor with WCVB News.
"She really helped post it," Sturm said. "We were grateful for her for hosting it."
The 2020 virtual Wagon & Doll Carriage Parade will premiere at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve on Foxboro Cable Access' public channel (Comcast 8/Verizon 39) and on its website at fcatv.org/live.
