Foxborough High School Athletic Director Resigns
Foxborough High athletic director Rich Cormier's tenure included a state title for girls' basketball and a girls' lacrosse sectional title.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The high school is going to need a new athletic director following the resignation of Rich Cormier. Cormier told school officials Monday he was stepping down because he's accepted the open athletic director position at Hopkinton High School, the Sun Chronicle reported.
Cormier has headed Foxborough's athletic department since July 2016. During his tenure, high school sports have had success, with the girls' basketball team winning the MIAA Division 2 state title. More recently, the girls' lacrosse team won the East sectional championship this past June. Cormier said he wasn't expecting to leave so soon but made the best decision for his family, as he'll be closer to his Mendon home.
"I feel very, very fortunate to have worked with so many great people," Cormier told the Sun Chronicle. "I worked with a great administration, tremendous coaches, but the best part without question is obviously watching the kids compete, watching the students do what they really love to do."
