Foxborough High School Qualifies For WGBH's High School Quiz Show

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Foxborough High School students will compete against other schools in the name of academic superiority on the televised tournament High School Quiz Show.

Contestants will be quizzed on current events, general knowledge and Massachusetts high school curriculum standards in subjects including literature, history, science and math.

This will be the ninth season of High School Quiz Show and Foxborough's first appearance.

“Congratulations to the schools advancing in the High School Quiz Show competition and thank you to all of the schools that came to Super Sunday!” host Billy Costa said in a release. “Each year I look forward to seeing Quiz Show veterans again and to welcoming new participants at the tapings, and this year is no exception. I’ll see you in January! ”

The season will culminate for the first time with an interstate Invitational, featuring WGBH’s High School Quiz Show state champions competing against New Hampshire PBS’ Granite State Challenge state champions, the High School Quiz Show: Rhode Island state champions and the High School Quiz Show: Maine state champions for the final title.

High School Quiz Show begins taping at WGBH in January in front of a studio audience. It will premiere Saturday, February 3 at 6pm on WGBH 2.
